Lab reports
You drink matcha every day. You have a right to know what’s in it.
That’s why we have every batch tested at ALS Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory with sites in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. For pesticides, heavy metals and microbiological contamination. You can view the reports here as PDFs. No request needed. No contact form.
What we test for
Pesticides
A GC-MS/MS pesticide screening, from herbicides to insecticides. All 240 reported values were below the reporting limit, mostly 0.01 mg/kg. The lab did not report 26 further substances because the measurement did not pass its quality control. They are listed at the end of the report. The lab rates the result as compliant with EU maximum residue levels.
Heavy metals
Lead, cadmium, chromium. Often discussed in relation to tea from Asia. The current batch measured 0.121 mg/kg lead (12 times below the EU limit), 0.040 mg/kg cadmium (5 times below the EU limit) and 0.10 mg/kg chromium.
Microbiology
Indicators of clean processing and storage. Salmonella not detected, total viable count below 10 CFU/g.
Current reports
Tested in October 2025, Ceremonial Blend batch.

→ Heavy metals, microbiology, alkaloids (PDF, ALS Czech Republic, 30 October 2025)
The reports refer to the batch currently on sale. Each new delivery from Aichi is tested again and the PDFs here are replaced.
Why we make this public
We publish our lab reports here so you can read the results directly.
